As the diggers rolled onto Gezi Park a year ago, they sparked a protest that engulfed the entire country and until today has still not been extinguished. The resistance against the construction of a shopping mall lead to an ongoing struggle for democracy and freedom of the press, against the corruption and capriciousness of the government. At the poesiefestival berlin, authors, journalists and academics discuss the emergence, the goals and the background to the Gezi Park protests, and give information about the current situation in Turkey.
